Donate to the Cause

We all know the statistics,

  • Approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.3 million are dogs and 3.2 million are cats.  We estimate that the number of dogs and cats entering U.S. shelters annually has declined from approximately 7.2 million in 2011.  The biggest decline was in dogs (from 3.9 million to 3.3 million).

  • Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized (670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats).  The number of dogs and cats euthanized in U.S. shelters annually has declined from approximately 2.6 million in 2011.  This decline can be partially explained by an increase in the percentage of animals adopted and an increase in the number of stray animals successfully returned to their owners.

  • Approximately 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted each year (1.6 million dogs and 1.6 million cats).

  • About 710,000 animals who enter shelters as strays are returned to their owners. Of those, 620,000 are dogs and only 90,000 are cats.

We can change this and we are working Very hard every single day. With every cat we spay we stop 3,000 kittens being born in just 7 years or 49,000 in 10 years.

With an estimated 95.6  Million cats in the US, if all of those go unaltered the math there is scary.

AOP is stopping the cycle of animals euthanized in local shelters. By decreasing the number that are unwanted, we decrease the number put to sleep. Fewer cats means more in homes and not in the shelter.

iGive.com

iGive is another amazing way to support our non-profit. They cover MANY online retailers so that when you shop a percentage of your purchase amount is directly donated to us. The BEST part in my opinion about iGive, is the iGive button you can download. Not only does it let you know that you are shopping with an online store that supports iGive, but it is FULL on coupon codes for that site. Who doesn't want to save money while donating?

Since its program launch in 2003, eBay buyers and sellers have donated over $725 million through the eBay for Charity program to social causes around the world. To help us reach our goal during our continued spay and neuter efforts, we invite our Animal Outreach Project, Inc community to participate in the eBay for Charity program.

Start now with these easy steps:

  •  Add Animal Outreach Project, Inc as your favorite charity on eBay today!

  • As your favorite charity on eBay, you can now directly donate to Animal Outreach Project, Inc at checkout when you purchase any item.

  •  You can shop for any items on eBay in which the proceeds are donated to our charity.

  •  You can sell your own items on eBay and donate a percentage of the sale price to benefit Animal Outreach Project, Inc

  •  All of these efforts allow you to easily support our cause. Your donations are tax-deductible and as a charitable seller, eBay rewards your support by offering you a fee credit based on your donation percentage to Animal Outreach Project, Inc.

  • Your generosity makes you an example of why the Animal Outreach Project, Inc community is so special and shows the impact we can have together through individual acts of kindness.
